I use cut-outs from art magazines and art history books. The images I create are all thematically connected through the concepts of age, identity, and personal worth/talent. By cutting out the artwork and purposefully creating another meaning by piecing them back together, I allude to the complexities in my themes (specifically of worth and identity). Each piece of work has an established image in it that connects to a specific memory in my life that is the foundation of the intended meaning of a said piece. Principally, I hope for my work to feel nostalgic, inauspicious, and evocatively familiar.
